Paradise Valley Springs is open every day of the year (365 days), including each and every public holiday.
We're open every day from 8am until dark, with last entry to the park at 5pm. Tickets must be purchased before 5pm to allow entry, then you are able to leave at any time until dark.
Be sure to allow at least one to two hours for your visit. Your ticket also allows you to come in and out at any stage throughout the day.
Please note: Lion Cub Patting does not happen when we are at Covid-19 alert level 2.
We have new lion cubs who were born on the 1st of May 2021.
They are currently available for visitors to meet and pat at the following times every day:
10.45am to 11.45am
1.00pm to 2.15pm
3.15pm to 4.15pm
You will be able to meet and pat our cubs until early to mid 2022, and of course the sooner you visit the smaller they will be.
There is no additional charge to pat our lion cubs and you do not need to make a booking. Suitable for all ages.
Every day at 2.30pm our Lions are fed.
Lions can lie around and sleep for up to 20 hours a day, so feeding time is a great time to get up close to our Lions, see them active and also learn a bit more about them all.
Feeding lasts for approximately 15-20 minutes.
Please note: Kea and Possum Feeding does not happen when we are at Covid-19 alert level 2.
We feed our kea and possum every day at 3pm, and you're welcome to come along.
Meet our kea (NZ's cheeky mountain parrot) and see how intelligent they are.
Next door lives our possum. Hear about the damage they cause to New Zealand's environment and native birds like the kea.
